Coast to Coast AM - 08-25-11 - Elenin, Meteorites, and Alien Encounters

Coast to Coast AM - 08-25-11 - Elenin, Meteorites, and Alien Encounters

Host: George Noory
Guests: Linda Moulton Howe, Frank Borzellieri

Investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe discussed Comet Elenin, the building blocks of DNA discovered in meteorites, and Alec Newald's encounters with aliens. In her update on Comet Elenin, she spoke with Don Yeomans, the manager of NASA's Near-Earth Objects (NEO) program at JPL, who was puzzled by the Internet-fueled mania around the comet's arrival (its closest point will be 22 million miles away on October 16, 2011). "There is no evidence for a Planet X. There is no evidence for Nibiru. Neither one of them exist. So, there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about with regard to Comet Elenin," he insisted. He also talked about the 2055 YU55 asteroid, which in November is coming much closer than Elenin (but not in danger of hitting Earth), and the asteroid Apophis (a 46-million-ton space rock that is 1,600-feet-wide) which has a slight chance of colliding with Earth in 2036.

In her second report, Linda detailed how nucleobases have been discovered in carbon-rich meteorites, with the implication that these building blocks of DNA originated from outer space far beyond Earth. These discoveries add to a growing body of evidence that the chemistry inside asteroids and comets is capable of making building blocks of essential biological materials. She interviewed Michael Callahan, an astrochemist at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. "During an early Earth when these meteorites were coming in constantly, they might have brought in some significant starting materials that could have assisted the origin of life on Earth," he said. More.

In a two-part report, she talked to Alec Newald, a New Zealand abductee who described a 1989 10-day missing time episode, in which he claims he was taken to an alien planet. He encountered translucent entities who brought him to a spaceship where he stepped inside a kind of crystal tube. Later, he wore a "biosuit" that made his skin appear blue, and interacted with an "Elder" or "Guardian" being who had cat-like eyes. Through a beaming method of interdimensional travel, he was transported to a desert-like world, where he viewed crystallized pyramids that were made of a "living material" and had symbols superimposed on them. After his return, Newald said he was cross-examined about his alien experiences by two men who said they were "government scientists."

Roswell Believers

First hour guest, journalist Frank Borzellieri talked about his new book, Who Believes in Roswell? in which he surveyed around 1,000 people to find out if there were common traits amongst believers and skeptics, regarding the claim that an alien ship crashed in New Mexico in 1947. The younger the person was, the less likely they were to believe in the case, with those over 64 the most likely to believe. He also found that the more a person knew about the case, the more likely they were to believe it was true (which was the opposite of the Amityville Horror case). Borzellieri also found a correlation between those who believe in conspiracy theories surrounding such events as the JFK assassination & 9-11, and belief in the Roswell incident.

Coast to Coast AM - 08-24-11 - Ghosts and Spirits

Coast to Coast AM - 08-24-11 - Ghosts and Spirits

http://www.mediafire.com/?ekmks9xkq2px3li  <--

Host: George Noory
Guests: John Kachuba, Lee Speigel

Ghosthunter and author John Kachuba talked about some of his investigations, and theories regarding hauntings and spirits. There are a number of possible explanations for ghostly phenomena, and one of them ties in with the theory of parallel universes or alternate worlds, currently considered in quantum physics. It's very possible that what we call ghosts could be the result of these worlds bumping up against each other, creating a momentary crossover that allows us to see into another dimension, he noted. Other manifestations may be related to natural earth energies like ley lines or magnetism.

There are also "residual hauntings" where the impression or memory of some traumatic event lingers. "The emotional content of that...event is left in the form of energy in the environment that under the right conditions...replays itself again and again, until finally at some point it dissipates," he said. Kachuba talked about "corner ghosts," entities that are seen in a flash from the side view, but disappear when looked at head on. One theory posits that ghosts or spirits are visible in the infrared spectrum, and because there's a thin band around the cornea that allows a small amount of view in that range, that may be why people sometimes see these things in their peripheral vision, he suggested.

One interesting case he investigated was that of "Shadow Man" sightings in a basement Art Complex in Ohio (a former Catholic school), in which numerous witnesses described a dark, moving figure. After his visit, the Complex director called Kachuba to tell him of subsequent visitors, a group of nuns who had taught at the school over 20 years ago. One of them said, "By the way, is the shadow still in the basement?" They identified the figure as one of the sisters, who had hung herself in the basement. Kachuba was intrigued that the artists and the nuns who did not know each other, both described the same phenomena, over two decades.

UFOs on History Channel

First hour guest, writer and paranormal expert Lee Speigel commented on a new 2-hour History Channel special, Secret Access: UFOs On The Record, which will air on Thursday night. The show was based on Leslie Kean's book, which explores the 5% of investigated UFO cases that remain unexplained, such as a 1986 sighting by a Japan Airlines pilot. More here.

Coast to Coast AM - 08-23-11 - Hacking & Technology

Coast to Coast AM - 08-23-11 - Hacking & Technology

http://www.mediafire.com/?t6y645761xtgq0u  <--

Host: George Noory
Guests: Kevin Mitnick, Mike Smith

The "most wanted" criminal of cyberspace at one time, Kevin Mitnick, told his story of how he turned from a renegade into respected security consultant, as well as offered commentary on various computer security and hacking issues in the news today. As a teenager, he became involved in "phone phreaking," a predecessor to computer hacking, in which he pulled off various pranks. In one incident, he changing the class of a friend's parents phone to that of a pay phone, such that when they picked up the phone to make a call, they would get a message saying 'please deposit 20 cents.' He was also able to acquire the private numbers of celebrities, and once got Bruce Springsteen on the phone at his home in New Jersey.

As computing became more prevalent, he got heavily involved in hacking, before there were even specific laws on the books against it. He eventually went after developer's source code, hacking into companies that created software. This led to his first arrest, when he was placed in solitary confinement for almost a year, as he was considered a national security risk. When Mitnick was released in 2000 after a subsequent arrest by the FBI in 1995, he was asked to assist the Federal government in helping them combat hacking.

At this time, he also began a career on the lecture circuit, speaking about security threats, the way attackers are getting in, the mechanics of 'social engineering,' and how people and companies can better protect themselves. Currently, mobile phones are a target-rich environment for attackers, particularly corporate Blackberries that may have a lot of confidential information, he noted. One way people who use public Wifi (such as at a cafe) can protect themselves is by connecting first through a VPN service, which encrypts their data. Gmail also has a new security service called Two-Step Verification, he said. Mitnick addressed the current generation of hackers, groups such as LulzSec and Anonymous, who take advantage of their linked community to share exploitation tools. Members of these groups have become factionalized with different agendas, some political in nature, he added.

Hurricanes & Quakes

First hour guest, Mike Smith, one of the world's leading experts in the application of weather science, talked about hurricane Irene and the unusual quakes on the East Coast and in Colorado. The current forecast for Irene poses a threat to southern New England, New York, and New Jersey. He suggested people avail themselves of low cost mitigation measures such as purchasing an electrical inverter which can power electrical appliances or devices via a car's cigarette lighter. Regarding the surprising East Coast quake, people tend to think what's normal is what's occurred in their lifetime, but "New York City has had major earthquakes in 1737, 1783, and 1884...and Boston had a major earthquake, even by California standards, way back in 1755," he noted.

Coast to Coast AM - 08-22-11 - Time, 2012, & the Source

Coast to Coast AM - 08-22-11 - Time, 2012, & the Source

Host: George Noory
Guests: David Wilcock

Intuitive researcher and filmmaker David Wilcock talked about his vision for humanity, changes occurring around 2012, and his concept of the 'source field.' This field represents the source for space, the flow of time, physical matter at the quantum level, as well as for consciousness, he said. We're actually moving into a new energy zone in the galaxy that elevates consciousness and makes us more loving people, he said, noting that studies have shown that the violent crime rate has gone down.

Wilcock suggested that we're headed into 'end times'--not in the sense of the world ending, but rather that time as we know it will end, or change its flow. He reached this conclusion from studying Zoroastrian scripture, which reportedly goes back to the time of Atlantis, and first proposed that time will end. And now, current physics models indicate we can change the rate of time with our own consciousness, he continued, adding that when there's a solar burst of energy, it slightly changes the flow of time. "I believe what's happening to us is that this energetic acceleration we're going through is making abilities that used to be in the hands of masters like Jesus, available to everyone," he said.

There is covert technology that can slow time down or speed it up, and it involves creating a rotational wave in the gravity field, as gravity is what powers time, he explained. Regarding 2012 prophecies, while there may be some natural cataclysms, he believes we're heading into a golden age, and that there's a lot more to being human than the levels we've reached on this planet. According to ET and ancient sources, "human beings apparently go through sudden energetic springboards that radically transform human evolution into some sort of light being," and this may be accomplished via shifts in the way that time runs, he said.

Budd Hopkins Tribute

The first hour featured a memorial tribute to renowned ufologist and alien abduction researcher Budd Hopkins, who passed away on Sunday. In order of appearance were David Jacobs, Stanton Friedman, Yvonne Smith, Whitley Strieber, Dr. Roger Leir, and Paola Harris. Several of the speakers noted that Hopkins coined the phrase "missing time" and was the first to report on the phenomenon. He showed a great deal of courage in presenting alien abduction material to the public, and fortitude in dealing with numerous abductees. He also served to educate therapists in the correct protocols for hypnotic regressions.

Coast to Coast AM - 08-21-11 - Mothman Experiences

Coast to Coast AM - 08-21-11 - Mothman Experiences

http://www.mediafire.com/?rsyjmb7vu678oil  <--

Host: George Knapp
Guests: Andrew B. Colvin, Tim Binnall

Writer and artist Andy Colvin joined George Knapp to discuss his real experiences with the mysterious Mothman, dating back to his youth in West Virginia. His investigations were triggered after the 9-11 attacks, when he recalled that he and a childhood friend in 1967 received visions from the Mothman of an attack in New York in 2001, with buildings exploding. Interestingly, people also reported precognitive visions of the Silver Bridge collapse before it occurred in December, 1967 (the collapse had been linked to Mothman's visitations in the Point Pleasant area by researcher John Keel). Colvin also said his sister photographed a red-eyed creature at the window that resembled Mothman or a Thunderbird.

Connecting Mothman to ancient lore of huge birdmen such as the Garuda (Hindu/Buddhist) and the Native American's Thunderbird, the entity has functioned as both a cosmic harbinger, and a mirror of people's fears and expectations, when they are at a crossroads in their life, he suggested. He is "an ancient entity that appears over areas that once had Indian mounds," such as where chemical plants have been built, and "I think Mothman is fulfilling a role of sorts-- trying to warn us about pollution," Colvin continued.

Putting together odd sets of synchroncities, and witness interviews, Colvin has come to believe that Mothman encounters have affected people in profound ways. In 2002, he returned to a West Virginia location with family members who had all seen Mothman. "Instantly, this strange thing started happening. The temperature changed, the birds stopped chirping. We saw three cloudy mists...it was like we were standing in front of a mirror," he said, adding that there was also a dark being that was flitting by, which he suspects was Mothman. Later that night, he had a vision of a drowning, and several days later they drove by the area again and saw someone being pulled out of the river.

Exeter UFO Fest

In the first hour, writer and podcast host Tim Binnall talked about the upcoming Exeter UFO Festival (9/3, free admission) in New Hampshire, which he'll be hosting. He also commented on ufology, and the recent passing of Budd Hopkins, whose original research into the alien abduction syndrome was highly influential.
