Host: George Noory
Guests: Dan Aykroyd, Peter Aykroyd

Celebrated actor and businessman Dan Aykroyd was joined by his father Peter Aykroyd (first hour only) the author of A History of Ghosts, to discuss their family's interest in the paranormal, which has spanned four generations. Peter's grandfather Samuel was a spiritualist in Kingston, Ontario. As part of a group known as "Dr. Aykroyd's Circle," they met regularly with a trance medium named Walter Ashhurst, who communicated with deceased spirits. Peter said he joined in on some of these seances, when he was a young boy. Of the various types of phenomena, "materialization" has impressed Peter the most, and he cited the case of when a medieval monk reportedly appeared before one group during a seance.

Dan talked about "precipitated spirit paintings," works of art said to appear on canvases without the use of human hands. He grew up seeing American Psychical Research journals around the house, and some of the paranormal knowledge he was steeped in later helped to inspire his hit film Ghostbusters, which took a lighter look at the subject matter. "One of my favorite things to do is to drive in the middle of the night, 'planet crawl' as it were, across America or Canada and listen to Coast to Coast. It's just one of the treats of being alive," Dan Aykroyd shared.

Dan discussed unusual psychic phenomena such as apports, describing an incident in China in which a container ship had a black void that sucked equipment away-- some of this equipment later emerged 2,000 miles away, he said. He also talked about his interest in UFOs, and cited a recent case in Ottawa in which a ball of lights was seen making right and left turns before crashing into the water.

Coast to Coast AM - 09-21-11 - Peak Oil - Saudi Arabia & 9-11

Host: George Noory
Guests: Richard Heinberg, Craig Hulet

In the first half of the program, leading educator on Peak Oil, the point at which we reach maximum global oil production, Richard Heinberg, talked about the devastating impact it will have on our economic, food, and transport systems. Heinberg speculated that the world is either at this point or "very close to it," because "high prices and increasing demands don't seem to be budging supply very much." He said that the dire straits of oil production can also be seen in how energy companies have exhausted the easier "low hanging fruit" reserves and are now faced with extracting oil with increasingly more expensive, slow, and environmentally hazardous locations and means.

Beyond just oil, Heinberg warned that other forms of fuel are also in danger of reaching their peak. On a local level, he explained that merely producing a meal requires extensive use of gas to transport the food, coal powered electricity to refrigerate it, and natural gas to cook it. This current journey from farm to plate, he said, requires a staggering 7 to 10 calories of fossil fuel energy for every 1 calorie of food consumed. At the point where the world reaches peak oil, Heinberg foresees a gradual decline in production that will cause a panic from the financial systems around the globe. In order to better prepare for this grim future, Heinberg suggested that the United States begin training people to manufacture and repair goods as well as grow foods. "That's the kind of economy we're moving back towards," he predicted.

Saudi Arabia & 9/11

In the latter half, geopolitical analyst Craig B. Hulet discussed evidence of Saudi intelligence being involved with 9/11 as well as his concerns surrounding the War on Terror. He pointed to a recent lawsuit brought by insurance company Lloyd's of London against the Saudi government, which alleges that the country was complicit in the September 11th attacks. "We've got evidence being collected that absolutely proves Saudi Arabia was behind 9/11," Hulet declared. While he acknowledged that this does not absolve the terrorists who committed the attack, he stressed that "none of this could have happened, for the last 20 years, without hundreds of millions of dollars from the Saudi royal family." Additionally, Hulet cited a West Point document which says that over half the foreign fighters killing Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq are Saudis.

Hulet also addressed a number of suspicious elements surrounding the War on Terror. Regarding the invasion of Iraq, Hulet said that the early use of ground troops in the country revealed that the government knew that Saddam Hussein did not actually have weapons of mass destruction. "If he'd had chemical or biological weapons," Hulet surmised, "we would have had to bomb them into the stone age or we'd never put troops on the ground." He also noted a resurgence in CIA-sponsored drug trafficking and said that numerous government contracted private planes, shown to be carrying huge amounts of narcotics, have crashed in recent years. Making matter even more nefarious, Hulet said that "in between these flights, they were also taking detainees from Guantanamo Bay to places like Libya to be tortured."

Coast to Coast AM - 09-20-11 - Planet X, Consciousness, Comet Elenin

Coast to Coast AM - 09-20-11 - Planet X, Consciousness, Comet Elenin

Host: George Noory
Guests: Doug Elwell, Deborah Pratt, Richard C. Hoagland

During the middle two hours, publisher of Mysterious World books, Doug Elwell, discussed his research on ancient references to Planet X which connects the work of Zecharia Sitchin to Biblical writings. He noted that astronomers have actually been looking for Planet X for "over 100 years" and clarified that the use of 'X' is merely to denote that the object remains, so far, unknown. "It's not some cheesy science fiction thing," he declared, "it's a legitimate scientific endeavor." Elwell described his interpretation of Planet X as a combination of mainstream science theories on the object along with the voluminous work of Zecharia Sitchen. According to Elwell's research, Planet X circles through our solar system about every 2,000 years and crosses through the asteroid belt.

Elwell observed that numerous ancient texts appear to allude to Planet X and asserted that the object is actually the "core concept behind the Bible." He noted that, in the Bible, Jesus said that, much like his birth, his return would be preceded by the arrival of a bright star, which Elwell interprets, in both cases, to be Planet X. Additionally, he said that if we "take mythology at face value," various ancient cultures wrote about their highest deities facing off in battle against a "dragon" of some kind. All of these references, Elwell theorized, suggest a "cosmic war" between God and the fallen angels, who come to Earth every time Planet X arrives in the hopes of raising an army to "attack heaven, itself."

Quantum Leap & Consciousness

In the first hour, writer/producer Deborah Pratt discussed her work on the TV series Quantum Leap as well as consciousness. She attributed the massive popularity of the program to the strong chemistry between the main characters as well as the concept that past mistakes could be fixed which "gave people hope." On consciousness, she opined that "we are in a shift" and stressed that mankind needs to harness the power of their "collective mass" to shape the future into a positive place. Pratt has set up a special website where Coast listeners can get a free e-download of the first book in her Vision Quest trilogy.

Comet Elenin

Final hour guest Richard C. Hoagland shared his thoughts on Comet Elenin, Friday's impending satellite re-entry, and 2012. He decried the hysteria surrounding Elenin, declaring that he'd "never seen any object so hyped and so lied about than this little nothing, wimpy thing." Hoagland also voiced suspicions over the origins of the comet's discovery, noting that Leonid Elenin, the man who discovered it, has seemingly rebuffed nearly all press surrounding the object. He encouraged listeners to avoid what he sees as "fear conditioning" by the media surrounding Elenin and surmised that something about the approaching comet threatens the world elite. As such, Hoagland mused that "someone in power is deathly afraid of it, so it must be a good thing."

Coast to Coast AM - 02-14-10 - Smiley Face Killers

Coast to Coast AM - 02-14-10 - Smiley Face Killers

Host: Ian Punnett
Guests: Kristi Piehl, Dr. Michael Sikirica

In the first half of the show, journalist and investigator Kristi Piehl discussed the latest evidence in the string of nationwide deaths that may have been caused by the "Smiley Face Killers." Over the past 12 years, more than 80 young men, predominantly from the Midwest, have drowned or disappeared under similar circumstances. In at least a dozen cases, the smiley face symbol was located near where bodies were found in the water. Yet now, Piehl has come to believe the smiley face graffiti may have been a red herring, and not directly related to the cases. Interestingly though, the word 'Sinsiniwa' was written at a crime scene in Michigan, and it was later learned that a victim in Iowa had been found in a river that ran alongside Sinsiniwa Avenue.

Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica joined Piehl to talk about the Todd Geib case. Geib was last seen walking away from a party on June 12, 2005 near his home in Muskegon County, Michigan. His body was found in a remote pond on July 2, 2005, and authorities determined he drowned the night of the party. Yet when Sikirica examined the autopsy files, he concluded that Geib had only been dead 2-5 days. This suggests that someone could have been holding the young man captive. "Whoever had Todd...is a sick individual...A lot of people have asked, who is doing this?...I think we're going to find a dark human being, of a kind we haven't met yet," said Piehl.

She also spoke about the Chris Jenkins case, in which a young man disappeared after a Halloween party in Minneapolis in 2002, and was found in the Mississippi River four months later. Initially the case was called an accidental drowning, but his death was later reclassified as a homicide. For more, see the footprintsofcourage.com website, about the Jenkins family's struggle for justice.

Coast to Coast AM - 09-19-11 - Answers to Cancer

Coast to Coast AM - 09-19-11 - Answers to Cancer

http://www.mediafire.com/?94wgy6uu159t579  <--

Host: George Noory
Guests: Dr. Leonard Coldwell, Reza Kahlili

One of the leading authorities of self-help education for cancer patients and considered by many authorities to be the world's leading expert on cancer, Dr. Leonard Coldwell, discussed the nature of the disease and why he believes chemotherapy, radiation, and mammograms cause cancer. In looking at the primary driver behind the illness, Coldwell contended that 90% of all cancers, as well as other sicknesses, are caused by stress. He pointed to "constant worries, doubts, and fears" as well as lack of self love and hope for the future as key factors in reducing energy levels, weakening the immune system, and leading to diseases like cancer.

He warned that patients who undergo traditional cancer treatments, like chemotherapy, are "as good as dead." As such, Coldwell shared some natural methods for fighting the disease. One tactic, he said, involves ingesting the combination of a spoonful of pharmaceutical baking soda and five spoonfuls of organic maple syrup, heated up to form a solid mass. This concoction, he said, acts as a "Trojan horse," since cancer cells will flock to the syrup's high sugar content and then be killed by the baking soda. Coldwell also advised drinking a gallon of water which contains a teaspoon of sea salt every day and avoiding the use of plastic containers for food and water. "You can always do the medical treatment," he said to those who may be skeptics, asking rhetorically "so why don't you try the natural first?"

Coldwell was highly critical of the mainstream medical industry which, he noted, nets billions of dollars from cancer detection and treatment. He asserted that the pharmaceutical industry has no interest in curing cancer and ultimately wants to turn it into a "manageable disease like diabetes." He claimed that his work towards eradicating cancer is so dangerous to the pharmaceutical industry that, when his first book was about to be published, he was offered a quarter of a million dollars to suppress it. After rebuffing the offer, Coldwell said, he was shot at two days later and had his car bombed two weeks after that. Citing similar treatment for other alternative treatment advocates, he lamented that "we live with daily death threats."

Inside Iran

In the first hour, author Reza Kalili recounted his story of being a CIA operative while working in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and talked about the current state of Iran. He explained that, after going to college in America, he returned to Iran right after the revolution and joined the Revolutionary Guard at the behest of a childhood friend's request for help. However, Kalili grew disheartened by the horrific acts of the new regime and decided to work with the CIA as their "eyes and ears" on the ground. Regarding the current state of Iran, Kalili alleged that the majority of citizens want a regime change but are "suffocated" by the "tyrannical rule of the clerics." He warned that the radical leaders of Iran believe that the present unrest in the Middle East is merely a "prelude to a new world order where the US and Israel don't exist."

Coast to Coast AM - 09-18-11 - The Counterculture & Physics - Grassroots UFOs

Host: George Knapp
Guests: David Kaiser, Jack Sarfatti, Fred Alan Wolf, Sue Swiatek

In the first half, George Knapp welcomed Dr. David Kaiser, along with Dr. Jack Sarfatti and Dr. Fred Alan Wolf, for a discussion on how a group of counterculture physicists in the 1970's led the way for cutting edge concepts like quantum theory. Kaiser explained that this informal organization, dubbed the "Fundamental Fysiks Group," would meet weekly in Berkley, California during the 1970's. Described as "very free-spirited but also very serious," Kaiser noted that the group's members were focused on "big, deep, and great questions about quantum theory." Ultimately, he credited the group for fundamentally changing the field of physics and leaving a legacy that "simply can't be denied."

Wolf and Sarfatti, who were a part of the group, reflected on their time as members of the colorful coterie. Opting to eschew the label "hippies," Wolf countered that they were "fringe, you might call us, or marginal." He mused that what was considered marginal in the 1970's would go on to become "state of the world, 'okay' stuff in the '90s." Later in the program, as the duo was discussing the current state of theoretical physics, Sarfatti showed that the spirit of the Fundamental Fysiks Group remains alive and well. He observed that, based on cutting edge research, "there's a new physics happening," which violates the current quantum mechanics and requires a change in the prominent theories of the day. Sarfatti surmised that this revolutionary work indicates the "heretical" perspective that "current day orthodox quantum theory is not the final word."

Grassroots UFOs

The latter half featured MUFON Virginia state director, Sue Swiatek, talking about the work of John Timmerman, who ran a traveling UFO exhibit where thousands of ordinary people relayed their UFO sightings and experiences. Swiatek recalled how, in 1980, the largest mall in Texas requested that the Center for UFO Studies create an exhibit to coincide with the release of the second Star Wars film. The massive display proved so popular that copies were made and sent out on tour, ultimately traveling to 92 locations over the course of 12 years. Stationed at the end of the exhibit, Swiatek said, sat Timmerman, who would document visitors' UFO stories. All told, he recorded approximately 1,200 cases that were shared by members of the public who visited the UFO exhibit.

"It's amazing, the diversity and breadth of the cases," Swiatek marveled at the sheer volume of information collected by Timmerman. She noted that, beyond merely personal UFO accounts, some witnesses turned out to be additional, tangential observers to some of ufology's most classic cases. To that end, Swiatek recounted one man's tale of working at the control tower during the Thomas Mantell UFO event and listened to the pilot's baffled description of the encounter moments before he disappeared. Additionally, Swiatek pointed out how Timmerman's collection of cases encapsulates the variety and geographically expansive nature of the UFO phenomenon. This aspect of the enigma, she stressed, continues to persist to this day.

Host: Ian Punnett
Guests: Gary Jansen, Dr. Kenneth Hanson, Brian Botterill

Author Gary Jansen talked about how he became a believer in ghosts after moving back into his childhood home and experiencing unexplainable things there. In the first hour, Judaic Studies professor Ken Hanson commented on the authenticity of the Jordan Codices, and Councillor Brian Botterill briefly discussed the motion he passed banning traffic cameras in Strathcona County, Canada.
